New Beginnings

Olive

oliveFor about five months I scanned the web every single day in hopes of veiwing a pug I would immediately fall in love with. I had seen Mary (now Olive) a couple of times, but was unsure of how I felt about her.

Fortunately for Olive and I, the wonderful people at Compassionate Pug Rescue set up a fabulous event where people could come see the lovely pugs in person. I thought I saw all of them, and as I was on my way out a girl holding a tiny sleeping pug (Olives foster mommy, who happened to be named Nicole too) let me know that there was one more I hadn’t seen.

I walked over, she opened her foggy blue eyes for about 3 seconds and let out this powerful snort, at that moment I knew she was the pug for me. Olive and I are basically in love. She snores like a maniac, walks all over my face when I’m asleep, and isn’t in perfect health: just some of the reasons I love her as much as I do.

She loves to cuddle with me, and play with her toys, and for such a small pug this girl really loves to eat. I couldn’t be happier, and I would do anything for her! She’s really happy, and so appreciative. The best part of my day is when I come home to her going absolutely crazy for me. We were meant to be! The End.

Herbie and Angus

herbie-and-angusAngus and I thought it was time to let all of our friends at Compassionate Pugs know just how sweet life can be when a couple of Senior Pugs find their perfect forever home.  It’s like hitting the Lottery but the payoff is in love.  We had a couple of accidents in the house when we first arrived but we are getting used to the schedule and Eddy made sure we knew there would be no yelling or spankings here so we are really trying hard to be perfect Pugs for him and Lulu.

When Angus and I (Herbie) arrived at Lulu & Eddy’s house we thought this was just another stop on our long trip to our forever home, boy were we wrong.

It was love at first smooch.  As soon as we got the lay of the land we were given the run of the house, no gates, fences or closed doors.  We have a nifty drinking fountain that we share with Luvey the cat, but that’s OK we all get along just fine.  We have two Pug sized beds, one in the living room and one in the bedroom where we sleep at night (on Saturday mornings we sleep on the big bed with Mum and Dad and Luvey).  Did I mention a lot of toys that we are getting used to; we have not played in so long we forgot how much fun it was. Luvey and I are trying to play together but we have not figured out yet how too!

Last week all of us went to the vet for our checkup and we all were given a clean bill of health.  We are gaining our weight back and our bodies are filling out just fine and the vet was happy with our progress and our great attitude, yep a Pug with an attitude go figure.  Our dad has been making us homemade dog food and treats that are perfect for two pampered Pugs like us.

Hope to see all our friends at the next pug event.

Rocky

rockyMy name is Rocky and I am a black Pug, one of the three rescued that were soaked in gasoline.  I was so sick with a severe upper respiratory infection, and was very anemic that they could not neuter me.

My foster parents came and picked me up.  At home I met two golden’s and a fawn pug named Jake.  After a few sniff’s we were brothers for life.  I had Dog food for the 1st time and I never saw a toy before.  I found that I was rewarded with treats not beaten.  There is even a dog bed in every room!

After Antibiotic’s, worming and vitamins my blood count came up enough to be neutered.  Then to my surprise they told me they were adopting me for good!  They love me and I love them.  I hope someone reads my happy ending story and Rescues one of my friends on the site that needs a good home like I got!

Meadow

meadowMeadow came home to us in March, 2009. We love her so much! Even though she sometimes sasses the other dogs, everyone is getting along. Meadow loves her special braided chew sticks that her new grandma bought her.

She also enjoys snuffling in her blanket, exploring her yard, and hanging out during TV time at night. Although she’s blind, she seems to enjoy comedies such as “The Office” and she cheers when there is a happy resolution on “Animal Cops.”

Managing her diabetes has not been a problem so far. Everyone should consider adopting a senior pug!

Pug hugs,
