New Beginnings

Miles

milesDear Compassionate Pug Rescue,

I want to give you a update on Miles. I changed his name to Mika. He comes running when I say his name. He is so great, he eats very well and he loves to play with toys. He is such a joy to have. He and Mokie love each other so much.  He brings much joy into my life. I love him so much. I was very lucky to get him. He sleeps in my bed every night with Mokie.

Again thank you very much for him.

Cocoa

cocoaMy name is Cocoa. I was found wandering the streets of Miami, Florida. A nice lady came and rescued me from euthanization, and 2 days later, my mom came and brought me home. I live in Orlando now, with my brother, Otis, and my 4 sisters, Pearl, Tiny Baby, Cari and Sarah.

Stitch

stitchHello! My name is Stitch, you may remember me as Sissy / Sugar who was recently up for adoption. I’m told my name comes from a Disney movie called Lilo and Stitch, my new mom’s son says I look like Stitch! This terrific family includes a 3 year old Puggle named Pogo, 10 year old cat Geraldine and Zack the turtle. My adoptive mom and her son are making me feel right at home and have given me baths already and today I had my first swimming lesson, I did really good!!

Pogo has become my best friend and my new mom calls me her little shadow. I follow what she does (where she sniffs, where she pees, what she plays with) and both mom and son praise me for being such a good girl! Mom says I am 90% potty trained and a really good eater with great energy. I love to lay on my back on the boy’s lap and let him stroke my belly. It just turns me into a complete marshmallow!

CPR even got my new mom in touch with my brother’s mom, who I was separated from. He lives in the Keys but mom says we are going to take a trip down to visit him real soon. His mom and my mom have exchanged emails and photos, I can’t wait to see him again!

Thank you CPR for my new forever home!!

Petey

peteyCPR rescued Petey from an animal control center, where he’d been automatically scheduled for euthanasia because he was injured.  CPR picked up Petey and arranged for necessary medical attention, including surgery to remove his badly ulcerated and neglected eye.  By the time my husband and I met Petey, he was a happy, healthy and affectionate little furball.  We immediately loved him, and are so grateful that CPR gave us the privilege of adopting him.

Despite his rough start in life, Petey is incredibly sweet and friendly.  He’s always ecstatic to greet us, even if we’ve only been out to get the mail.  He’s also hilarious–he snores like a buzz saw, grunts when he’s happy, and hops like a bunny to fetch a toy.  When he’s overwhelmed with puppy energy, he rockets around our apartment and skids across the kitchen floor.  Other times, when he’s feeling more relaxed, he buries most of his head in a blanket and uses his one eye to look around–it reminds us of a periscope in a cartoon.

Adopting Petey has so strongly reinforced my belief in animal rescue and adoption.  Rescued pets seem to know and appreciate what’s been done for them, and they reward you with a special level of loyalty and affection.  Compassionate Pug Rescue made it possible for us to adopt a wonderful pet and help save a life in the process.

Petey never seems to know that he’s missing an eye, and we’re rarely aware of it, either.  We are always aware, however, of how uniquely adorable he is and how lucky we are.
