Ruby & Pugsley

Ruby & Pugsley

A few words about Ruby and Pugsley…

We have owned 4 cockatiels, 2 parakeets, and several fish over the past few years.  Although we love those pets, there was something missing. We pondered adopting a dog many times, but did not do so because we were afraid of the dog attacking the birds (they are open cage birds).

A former student from South Miami Senior High School named Jackie sent us postcards on each major holiday with her pugs in costume. One day we decided go visit Jackie. When we arrived, we were greeted by three pugs, Bailey, Riley, and Bodie. We fell in love with all of them and came home to research the rescue sites.

Jeffrey

Jeffrey

The moment we saw Jeffrey we knew we had to have him! When I was little I had pugs, and I have been in love with the breed every since! We have our 3 year old pug, Mowgli, and were ready to get another so that he could have a companion, and because we just couldn’t resist having another.  I had found the CPR website a while back, and would always find myself looking at the available pups. I know that rescuing was the way that we wanted to go! When we saw Jeffrey and read his story we knew right away he was the one! I immediately filled out the application not knowing what to expect! The next morning Marcia called me. I wasn’t expecting to hear back so quickly, and we were all so excited!

Opa

opaOn August 22nd, a snorting gorgeous bundle of pug entered my life. After losing my French Bulldog Jackson in June, my 10 year old pug Cooper and I were lost. When Marcia called me and told me a little fawn female had been found living at a construction site in Opa Locka and would I be interested in fostering her, I agreed thinking it would be good for Cooper. Well thank heaven I said yes. From the moment I laid eyes on this little angel, she has changed my life. I work in a very stressful job and coming home each night and seeing her little goofy underbite smiling up at me takes me to a better place. She has lifted my spirit and Cooper’s too and has fit into our family like a missing puzzle piece. I cannot imagine my life without her. Thank you Compassionate Pug Rescue for bringing us Opa – the greatest gift in the world.
