New Beginnings

Pearl

pearlCPR rescued Pearl on her last day at animal services. After rescuing a pug there and seeing this beautiful face, we could not let her be put to sleep.

Animal services missed that Pearl had a completely dislocated femur and previously fractured hip.  Pearl required orthopedic surgery to give her the quality of life she so deserves.  Many thanks to her new wonderful forever family, Pam and David for nursing her back to heath and giving her the home of her dreams.

It’s been 4 weeks since Pearl’s surgery and she’s walking fine all all 4 legs, but, still hops on 3 legs when she’s in a hurry.. The muscle tone is improving on the leg that was operated on, too.  And maybe she’s put on another pound but looks really healthy.

Everyday that passes she seems more comfortable and trusting of us. She is also more interested in play and her toys, too. My husband said today “we’ve bonded”.  I’m so glad she’s healthy of our family. Thank You CPR for bringing us together.

Thank You,

Pam Moore

Luna

lunaWe adopted Luna, a two-year-old fawn pug, from CPR on November 14, 2007 as a playmate for our 1 1/2 year old, one-eyed rescue pug, Izzy.  We were warned that Luna is a challenge, but we could not have imagined that such a beautiful little girl could cause so much trouble.  We are still working on issues; we even hired a private trainer.  Despite the problems, when Luna is tired from a day of wreaking havoc and snuggles up with us, gives kisses and makes a cheesy face, we know she is here to stay.  Luna has joined us for two long vacations on our 56-acre farm in north Georgia.  At home in Florida, she gets frequent walks, trips to the dog park and car rides.  Not to mention her twice per day meals of premium dog food with fresh toppings of lean ground beef, turkey, chicken or steak.  Luna loves to snuggle, play and sleep with her sister Izzy every day.  And we still have hope that she will mellow with age.  We know that Luna has found her forever home, and we could not imagine our pack without her.

Buddy

buddyHi Marcia, Just wanted to update you on Buddy. He is doing “GREAT” he has touched all of us in a way that I can’t put into words… We are crazy in love with him. He has already been on two trips and did fantastic in the truck (sleeping on me).  My other dogs treat him like their baby.

I never knew what i was missing before Buddy. He is very special!!

Thanks again,

Leslie Culhan

P.S. Not only does he sleep in my bed, but always curled up into the bend of my knees.

Maxwell

maxwellMy name is Maxwell and I have a great new home with my new family and I even have a younger sister Chachi. They really take good care of me, especially when they rub my tummy..boy they could do that all day.  My new Mom & Dad are trying to slim me down but I still love to eat. We go for lots of neat walks and I really love the dog park. I just wanted every one to know I am doing A OK and to thank CPR for finding me such a good comfy spot where I already love everyone and they love me too!
