In Memory of…

Niko… Loved and adored

niko collage rip 120715Our hearts are completely broken today with the loss of precious Niko. He was loved and adored by many…most recently by Marcia Shapiro who permanently fostered him for the past 2 years. Niko came into CPR in 2011 at age 11 with a multitude of health issues. The main one being spinal disease. This didn’t stop this quirky guy…with the funny under bite from carrying his stuffed toys around the house! With Marcia’s love, adoration, and attention…Niko lived a beautiful life. We don’t think anyone will miss Niko more than his best bud Frankie. These two were inseparable and had a bond as if they were litter mates. Even until the end Frankie kept Niko company and watched over him as seen in the bottom picture. We know Niko left a huge paw print on your heart Frankie…as he did on all of ours. You will be missed Niko more than you’ll ever know. Rest in Peace sweet boy. ๐Ÿถโค๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐ŸŒˆ

You went too soon Louie…

louie tribute image 071815We are sad to tell you that our Louie boy did not make it through his surgery yesterday. But we are comforted that he passed away feeling a great love from all of us at CPR and his foster parents Phillip and Kelli Salm. Louie was one of the happiest pugs we’ve ever known! He didn’t have a mean bone in his body and enjoyed saying Hi to everyone he met! He was a total food monster…could sniff out anything with his blood hound nose! Had a love for warm baths…and he enjoyed each one as if it was the first time he’d had one! To quote his foster dad..”It’s amazing how it takes years to let a human into your heart but a dog takes minutes.” Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to Philip and Kelli for welcoming Louie into their home and lives. Louie you certainly left your paw print on our hearts and we hope the Rainbow Bridge greeted you with the biggest plate of food and the warmest bath! Rest in Peace sweet guy.

Rest in Peace Susie

We are deeply saddened by the loss of sweet Susie. She is one of our oldest alumni’s rescued in 2002. Her mom Connie is a rescuer extraordinaire transporting and fostering many pugs, doing numerous home visits, and making sure to keep in touch with us about Susie over the yearsโค. Susie passed in the arms of her mom where she felt the safest to receive her angel wings. We are sending our thoughts to Connie and Jim during this difficult time. They gave her a life filled with adoration and love.

Rest in Peace Susie.

Goodbye sweet prince Sumo

Our thoughts and prayers are with the friends and family of “Sumo”, CPR Alumni, as they say goodbye to their prince. Sumo had cancer and took a very sudden decline. Sumo was with Miriam and family a short time, but he had a lifetime of love. CPR is so grateful to Miriam and family for the love shown to Sumo. We know he will be greatly missed.

Run free beautiful boy….
